My Altitude App Reviews

I live ON the coast. The app says that my altitude is 76 feet +/- 26 feet!! For the readers who dont understand .... the garage floor of my house (that I am currently standing on) is 30 feet above sea level. Therefore, the app SHOULD be reading (approx) 33 feet. +/- 26 feet ....... this app must have been developed for government work.

Just got this for a trip into the Rockies. Its easy to use and works well!

Perhaps I dont know how to use MY Altitude but with Device Sencor mode I get a reading that is at least 100 feet high and it keeps changing. The Data Files mode reading is stable but off as well.

The altitude is always +/- 200 feet or more and bounces around. I realize its based on the data from the phone, but its just not accurate enough to be useful.

Used this while apartment hunting and it worked. I am happy at 6600 ft!

In west virginia the app was within a few feet of the mountain elevation signs

Great app for measuring altitude. Theres a 800 difference in altitude on my very hilly walk and this app makes it interesting seeing how high you are at different points.

If youre looking for a simple altimeter this is it. It also shows lat-lon coordinates (in DMS and decimal). This app works really well, even in airplane mode. Of course, it isnt as accurate but theres always a margin of error displayed below. Ive been using it frequently for months now and I have no complaints.

I love this program! I am currently using it to cross the US and back! The notices are really helpful and also alternate routes around large towns! Thank you, Waze!

Great app, its really interesting to know your altitude. This app does a lot more than just altitude it gives you you cords and barometric pressure anywhere even if you have not signal.

Ive only recently used it for skiing and seeing how high up I am out of general curiosity and work great. No complaints at all

The developer says NO internet connection required but you still need your phone with you....what is the point?

If you walk or hike or travel, this neat and free app is great and reliable. It even provides seemingly accurate altitude when my iPhone has "no service".

Have been using this for years. I find it to be pretty accurate, plus it also works when I dont have service, although not in airplane mode. It would be really cool if they integrated a compass, but its great as it is!

I was standing in the ocean knee-deep and this elevation app told me I was 11.5 feet above sea level so I guess the Atlantic Ocean is not consider the sea. I used in Tennessee and at 4k feet on a mountaintop where it was posted 4,200 feet so I guess it works all depends on your phone service. Just used in NJ at a scenic overlook spot that was 1,100 feet and the app said 1,127 close enough
